Teaching Techniques Essay Essay Example for Free
Training Techniques Essay Programming Development is one of the principle courses that I frequently educate. So as to train this course to my understudies at undergrad level, I utilize a mixed methodology by joining different instructor focused and understudy focused educating procedures. Truth be told, because of the idea of this course, both hypothetical instruction and commonsense work are required (Damian, Hadwin, Al-Ani, 2006; Dubinsky Hazzan, 2005; Gnatz, Kof, Prilmeier, Seifert, 2003). Accordingly, educator focused strategies are not adequate, and some understudy focused methods ought to be utilized to satisfy the necessities of this course is a key subject for programming building understudies (Catalano, 1997). When all is said in done, my instructing system for this course comprises of four unique components, including: a preparation meeting, educating and clarification meetings, research facility meetings, and a last venture. While the initial two components are for the most part dependent on educator focused procedures, different components completely center around studentsââ¬â¢ movement and interest (Felder Silverman, 1988). Every one of these segments will be talked about in the accompanying passages. With this respect, the related training strategies utilized in each phase of my educating are supported. The principal phase of my educating depends on addressing, in which understudies are acquainted with the subject and its hugeness. I start with a concise presentation about programming improvement techniques and their utilization. This stage gives understudies a major image of the entire course and they get the possibility of the subject. I as a rule attempt to keep this stage short so understudies don't get exhausted with my talk. At that point, I proceed with the course with the following stage that incorporates educating and clarification meetings. For this stage, I use article and show along with contextual investigation and Socratic (QA) strategies. I show programming advancement techniques individually in various meetings. For every technique, I utilize Guided Discovery (talk and chalk) way to deal with give understudies the essential information they have to comprehend that particular strategy. At that point, I will attempt to expand all the more utilizing genuine application models. To draw in understudies in my showing meetings, I give them some contextual investigations followed by QA, with the goal that they improve experiences and realize where and when to utilize that technique for programming advancement. After this, understudies are set up for handy work in the up and coming phases of the course. The following two phases of the course depend on some helpful understudy focused procedures, specifically: guided revelation, bunch work, and a kind of pretending. Research facility meetings are planned for giving a few hands on encounters and regulated exercises. Hands-on encounters are fundamental for understudies to learn and rehearse a few strategies that they requirement for their improvement ventures (Gnatz et al., 2003). During these meetings, I disclose a basic framework to them, and get some information about the most appropriate strategy for building up the necessary application. I attempt to include all of them in finding the best arrangement. At that point, they will be approached to draw the related graphs utilizing the well known UML programming (Larman, 2002). These regulated exercises are likewise useful for me to adequately recognize their qualities and shortcomings with the goal that I can design in like manner to address their necessities. The last phase of the course is a gathering work blended in with some pretending. Understudies are partitioned into gatherings to do a product improvement venture utilizing what they have realized during the course. Despite the fact that, they pick their gathering individuals themselves, I utilize my evaluations from the past stage to ensure that there is a reasonable equalization in all gatherings (Damian et al., 2006). At that point, I appoint an undertaking to each gathering, and they pick a venture director among them. Gatherings are given a dead-line to get ready for their undertakings. Task supervisors are dependable to introduce the venture plan of their gatherings and legitimize the strategy they utilized for improvement just as their course of events and remaining burden dissemination. This movement will recreate assignments performed by programming improvement groups in industry. Additionally, understudies will learn and rehearse group building and cooperation aptitudes, which are significant for their future vocation. As a rule, after a fruitful conveyance of their tasks, understudies are roused to turn out to be low maintenance engineers to expand their aptitudes while making income for themselves. In general, the varied methodology that I use for showing Software Development course, help my college understudies to increase both information and experience they require to do for creating various types of programming, for example, web applications or versatile applications, which are exceptionally requested nowadays. The Epidemic of AIDS in the African-American Community :: Health Medical HIV Diseases Essays
In the mid 1980's, numerous gay men were found to experience the ill effects of Kaposi's sarcoma, a malignant growth for the most part connected with older men of Mediterranean ethnicity. In the long run the gay men squandered away and passed on. Word started to spread all through the gay network that gay men were biting the dust of an in any case uncommon disease. The clinical network started to allude to this condition by the idiom Gay Cancer. As clinical researchers inquired about, they found that the condition included different appearances, for example, Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia (PCP). An uncommon type of pneumonia brought about by protozoa, its name was changed to Matrix, or Gay Related Immune Deficiency. The impact that the disgrace of homosexuality had on the overall population's recognition and treatment of the illness can't be neglected. Inside the clinical network, it immediately became obvious that the ailment was not explicit to gay men (as blood transfusion patients, heroin clients, hetero ladies and infants became added to the rundown of harrowed), and the renamed the disorder (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) in misguided judgment holds that the infection was presented by a gay male airline steward, named Gaetan Dugas, alluded to as Understanding Zero. Notwithstanding, ensuing examination has uncovered that there were instances of AIDS a lot sooner than at first known. It has likewise been hypothesized that a progression of vaccinations against hepatitis that were acted in the gay network of San Francisco were polluted with HIV. There is a high relationship between's beneficiaries of that inoculation and beginning instances of AIDS, however this obviously has never been demonstrated to be exact. Since the turn of the century, the general strength of all Americans has improved considerably. In spite of the fact that progresses in clinical and logical innovation have improved the wellbeing status of the American individuals, there is a developing concern and acknowledgment that African-Americans have not profited similarly from the products of science. While these realities are not new news, it is obvious that the greater part of the general population and mainstream researchers are not completely mindful of the full effect of these issues. There are government organizations that intend to give wellbeing administrations to minorities: the Office of Minority Health (which looks to create wellbeing strategies gainful to minorities) and the National Center on Minority Health and Health Disparities (which tries to advance minority wellbeing and kill wellbeing variations). String Types in Delphi
As with any programming language, in Delphi, variables are placeholders used to store values; they have names and data types. The data type of a variable determines how the bits representing those values are stored in the computers memory. When we have a variable that will contain some array of characters, we can declare it to be of typeString.à Delphi provides a healthy assortment of string operators, functions and procedures. Before assigning a String data type to a variable, we need to thoroughly understand Delphis four string types. Short String Simply put,à Short Stringà is a counted array of (ANSII) characters, with up to 255 characters in the string. The first byte of this array stores the length of the string. Since this was the main string type in Delphi 1 (16 bit Delphi), the only reason to use Short String is for backward compatibility.à To create a ShortString type variable we use:à var s: ShortString; s : Delphi Programming;ââ¬â¹ //S_Length : Ord(s[0])); //which is the same as Length(s) Theà sà variable is a Short string variable capable of holding up to 256 characters, its memory is a statically allocated 256 bytes. Since this is usually wasteful - unlikely will your short string spread to the maximum length - second approach to using Short Strings is using subtypes of ShortString, whose maximum length is anywhere from 0 to 255.à var ssmall: String[50]; ssmall : Short string, up to 50 characters; This creates a variable calledà ssmallà whose maximum length is 50 characters. Note: When we assign a value to a Short String variable, the string is truncated if it exceeds the maximum length for the type. When we pass short strings to some Delphis string manipulating routine, they are converted to and from long string. String / Long / Ansi Delphi 2 brought to Object Pascalà Long Stringà type. Long string (in Delphis help AnsiString) represents a dynamically allocated string whose maximum length is limited only by available memory. All 32-bit Delphi versions use long strings by default. I recommend using long strings whenever you can.à var s: String; s : The s string can be of any size...; Theà sà variable can hold from zero to any practical number of characters. The string grows or shrinks as you assign new data to it. We can use any string variable as an array of characters, the second character inà sà has the index 2. The following codeà s[2]:T; assignsà Tà to the second character os theà sà variable. Now the few of the first characters in à sà look like:à TTe s str....Dont be mislead, you cant use s[0] to see the length of the string,à sà is not ShortString. Reference counting, copy-on-write Since memory allocation is done by Delphi, we dont have to worry about garbage collection. When working with Long (Ansi) Strings Delphi uses reference counting. This way string copying is actually faster for long strings than for short strings.à Reference counting, by example:à var s1,s2: String; s1 : first string; s2 : s1; When we create stringà s1à variable, and assign some value to it, Delphi allocates enough memory for the string. When we copyà s1à toà s2, Delphi does not copy the string value in memory, it only increases the reference count and alters theà s2à to point to the same memory location asà s1. To minimize copying when we pass strings to routines, Delphi uses copy-on-write technique. Suppose we are to change the value of theà s2à string variable; Delphi copies the first string to a new memory location, since the change should affect only s2, not s1, and they are both pointing to the same memory location. à Wide String Wide stringsà are also dynamically allocated and managed, but they dont use reference counting or the copy-on-write semantics. Wide strings consist of 16-bit Unicode characters. About Unicode character sets The ANSI character set used by Windows is a single-byte character set. Unicode stores each character in the character set in 2 bytes instead of 1. Some national languages use ideographic characters, which require more than the 256 characters supported by ANSI. With 16-bit notation we can represent 65,536 different characters. Indexing of multibyte strings is not reliable, sinceà s[i]à represents the ith byte (not necessarily the i-th character) inà s. If you must use Wide characters, you should declare a string variable to be of the WideString type and your character variable of the WideChar type. If you want to examine a wide string one character at a time, be sure to test for multibite characters. Delphi doesnt support automatic type conversions betwwen Ansi and Wide string types.à var s : WideString; c : WideChar; s : Delphi_ Guide; s[8] : T; //sDelphi_TGuide; Null terminated A null orà zero terminatedà string is an array of characters, indexed by an integer starting from zero. Since the array has no length indicator, Delphi uses the ASCII 0 (NULL; #0) character to mark the boundary of the string.à This means there is essentially no difference between a null-terminated string and an array[0..NumberOfChars] of type Char, where the end of the string is marked by #0. We use null-terminated strings in Delphi when calling Windows API functions. Object Pascal lets us avoid messing arround with pointers to zero-based arrays when handling null-terminated strings by using the PChar type. Think of a PChar as being a pointer to a null-terminated string or to the array that represents one. For more info on pointers, check:Pointers in Delphi. For example, Theà GetDriveTypeà API function determines whether a disk drive is a removable, fixed, CD-ROM, RAM disk, or network drive. The following procedure lists all the drives and their types on a users computer. Place one Button and one Memo component on a form and assign an OnClick handler of a Button: procedure TForm1.Button1Click(Sender: TObject); var Drive: Char; DriveLetter: String[4]; begin for Drive : A to Z do begin DriveLetter : Drive :\; case GetDriveType(PChar(Drive :\)) of DRIVE_REMOVABLE: Memo1.Lines.Add(DriveLetter Floppy Drive); DRIVE_FIXED: Memo1.Lines.Add(DriveLetter Fixed Drive); DRIVE_REMOTE: Memo1.Lines.Add(DriveLetter Network Drive); DRIVE_CDROM: Memo1.Lines.Add(DriveLetter CD-ROM Drive); DRIVE_RAMDISK: Memo1.Lines.Add(DriveLetter RAM Disk); end; end; end; Mixing Delphis strings We can freely mix all four different kinds of strings, Delphi will give its best to make sense of what we are trying to do. The assignment s:p, where s is a string variable and p is a PChar expression, copies a null-terminated string into a long string. Character types In addition to four string data types, Delphi has three character types:à Char,à AnsiChar, andà ââ¬â¹WideChar. A string constant of length 1, such as T, can denote a character value. The generic character type is Char, which is equivalent to AnsiChar. WideChar values are 16-bit characters ordered according to the Unicode character set. The first 256 Unicode characters correspond to the ANSI characters.

Romeo and Juliet Revision - 2431 Words
What part do dreams, visions and premonitions play in Romeo and Juliet? In Romeo and Juliet, dreams, visions and premonitions play a very important role. They foreshadow the eventual tragedy, tell us about a characterââ¬â¢s view over a particular matter, and reflect underlying messages in the play. They are symbols, telling us about the various themes in the play as well. An example of a dream foreshadowing the eventual tragic ending of the play is found in Act 1 Scene 4, in which Romeo says that he ââ¬Å"dreamt a dream tonightâ⬠to his friends Mercutio and Benvolio, while heading to Capuletââ¬â¢s feast. His dream is ominous, and he is fearful of whether his dream will come true, saying that he fears the ââ¬Å"vile forfeit of untimely deathâ⬠. Thisâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦Even when his servant (?), Balthasar advised him to be patient and wait for more news to confirm as to whether Juliet had really died, saying, ââ¬Å"[his] looks are pale and wildâ⬠, Romeo disregards it and does not heed his advice. He goes on to buy poison from an apothecary, and upon seeing Juliet ââ¬Å"deadâ⬠in the tomb, does not think twice and kills himself. These show Romeoââ¬â¢s immaturity, as he could have reasoned more, and not commit suicide over thinking that his love was dead, which is unnecessary and based on impulse. However, Romeo also shows some evidence of him being more reasonable and more mature. In Act 5 Scene 2, when being confronted by Paris outside Julietââ¬â¢s tomb, Romeo attempts to reason with Paris. He tells Paris to ââ¬Å"tempt not a desperate man/â⬠¦a madmanââ¬â¢s mercy bid thee run awayâ⬠, knowing full well that he has lost nearly all his sense of control following Julietââ¬â¢s ââ¬Å"deathâ⬠and that he is going to act on impulse. Despite Romeoââ¬â¢s efforts, it can be said that it is a pathetic attempt, as Romeo, after Paris refused to listen to Romeoââ¬â¢s words of caution, killed Paris based on impulse, showing still his immaturity, even up till the end of the play. As seen, Romeo has, throughout the whole course of the play, demonstrated his impulsive and immature nature. Romeo, though he has matured only slightly with Juliet, still makes childish choices and decisions, and lets his emotions get theShow MoreRelatedFate: The Guiding Force Behind Life in Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare1160 Words à |à 5 Pagescharactersââ¬â¢ views on fate and free will is Romeo and Juliet. .
